What type of cuisine do you serve?
We serve authentic Italian cuisine — homemade pasta, wood-fired pizza, fresh seafood, and classic Italian desserts. Our recipes have been refined over decades by Chef Patrizia Branchi, who began her culinary career in Florence, Italy.
What are your hours?
We’re open daily for dinner. Monday through Thursday and Sunday, we serve from 4:00 PM to 9:30 PM. Friday and Saturday hours extend to 10:00 PM. Happy Hour runs Monday through Saturday from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
Where are you located?
We’re located at 835 Fourth Ave in Downtown San Diego’s historic Gaslamp Quarter.
Do you have vegetarian options?
Yes — our menu features several vegetarian-friendly dishes including our Vegetariana pizza, various pasta options, and seasonal vegetable dishes. Gluten-free pasta is also available for a small additional charge.
Can you accommodate large groups?
Absolutely. We welcome large parties in our main dining room and offer a private dining space for group events and special occasions. Contact us at (619) 234-6538 to discuss your event needs.
Is there a dress code?
We welcome guests in casual or dressy attire. Come as you are and enjoy the experience.
How long has the restaurant been open?
Opera Caffe was founded by Chef Patrizia Branchi, who began her restaurant career in 1985 when she opened L’Osteria Delle Tre Panche in Florence, Italy. She brings that same passion and authentic Italian tradition to San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter.
